Minor League Player of the Day: Lot’s of good choices for last night…but let’s settle on Zack Cozart who set a Bats record with 4 doubles and a homer and Cody Puckett went 3-4 with a double and homer and drove in 6 runs.

Louisville 10 – Norfolk 1

Zack Cozart had a big night, going 5-5 with a team record 4 doubles and a homer, scoring 2 runs and knocking in 3; Alonso, Mescoraco (.313/.405/.552), and Miller all had two hits (including a double), Miller scored 3 runs and drove in 3.

Not sure why, but Dave Sappelt only got one AB and was replaced in the lineup.

In what should be his final rehab start, Bailey went 6.1 and allowed 5 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, two walks and struck out 6.


Carolina 7 – Tennessee 6

Cody Puckett (.351/.442/.689) went 3-4 with a double, homer (driving in 6 runs) and a SB, Denis Phipps and David Cook had 2 hits.

High A

Stockton 6 – Bakersfield 4

Josh Fellhauer (.394/.457/.585) was 3-5 with a stolen base, Stephen Hunt (.514/.585/.943) had two hits (double).

Low A

Dayton 2 – Fort Wayne 0

Dayton’s pitching staff threw their second straight shutout and the Dragons won their 6th in a row and 11th of last 12 and their 9th straight home game.

Daniel Corcino threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits, no walks and 5 strikeouts. Pat Doyle and Blaine Howell threw 3 shutout/hitless innings allowing 0 walks and striking out 5.

Dominic D’Anna (.348/.470/.485) was 2-4 with a double, Jefry Sierra was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a walk, Yorman Rodriguez was 2-4 with a triple.
