Minor League Player of the Day: Cody Puckett (Carolina) 2-4, 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored, 4 RBI

AAA
Toledo 6 – Louisville 5
Daniel Herrera gave up 3 unearned runs in the 9th inning to record his first blown save of the season and drop to 0-2 on the season.  Herrera’s 3 runs allowed came off 2 hits, a walk and a fielding error by Dorn at 1b.  Dontrelle Willis allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings of work.  He struck out 4.  His ERA is now 1.13.

Dave Sappelt and Devin Mesoraco went 2-3 each.  Sappelt doubled twice, walked once, and drove in a run.  Mesoraco had a double and scored twice.  Danny Dorn homered, his 3rd, and drove in 2 RBI.

AA
Carolina 6 – Chattanooga 4
Cody Puckett homered twice in 4 at-bats, driving in 4 RBI.  Puckett now has 5 homeruns on the season.  Mike Costanzo went 3-4 with a double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

James Avery picked up his first win of the season and improved to 1-3 overall by going 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks.  He struck out 2.  Bradley Boxberger struck out the side in the 8th.  In 7 outings, Boxberger now has logged 9.2 innings pitched, allowing only 2 hits and 6 walks while striking out 16.

High A
Visalia 9 – Bakersfield 3
Josh Fellhauer doubled in 4 at-bats and drove in 2 RBI. 

Curtis Partch fell to 0-3 after allowing 8 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings pitched.  He surrendered 2 homeruns and struck out 4 as his ERA rose to 4.98 on the season.

Dayton 3 – West Michigan 1
Juan Duran went 1-2 with a homerun and 2 RBI.  The homerun was Duran’s 2nd of the season.  Dominic D’Anna singled in 4 at-bats with an RBI.

Daniel Corcino improved to 2-2 on the season with the win.  Corcino allowed 1 unearned run on 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings pitched.  He struck out 7.  Blaine Howell recorded his 4th save of the season by pitching a scoreless 9th.  He walked 1 and struck out 2.
