Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….
St. Louis 3
W: J. Westbrook (2-2)
L: E. Volquez (2-1)
S: M. Boggs (3)
–Until his 100th pitch, Edinson Volquez was great. His changeup was as good as I’ve seen, and every pitch was moving all over the place. Unfortunately, it was all undone with one pitch.
–Great work by Nick Masset tonight. Masset has now retired his last 11 batters, and hasn’t allowed a run in his last 5.1 innings. It’s something to build on.
–Brandon Phillips had half of the Reds hits, with two doubles. He certainly doesn’t seem intimidated by all the boos.
–TOS*. Four measly hits.
–I’m so sick of the Reds making terrible pitchers look like Cy Young candidates.
–Sorry to see the Reds lay an egg on national television.
–I really dislike Yadier Molina.
–At least when we wake up in the morning, we won’t be fans of the St. Louis Cardinals. On to Milwaukee!
*This Offense Stinks.
