Louisville 6 – Indianapolis 4; final 13
Homer Bailey went 5 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and a walk while striking out 2.  He threw 62 pitches, 40 of which were strikes.  Carlos Fisher blew a 4-0 lead by allowing 4 runs on 3 hits in the 9th inning.  Tom Cochran picked up the win.  The appearance was Cochran’s first appearance as a reliever since 2009 in which he appeared only twice as a reliever with Carolina in Double-A.

Kris Negron went 3-5 with a double and 2 runs scored.  Brian Barton went 1-3 with a homerun, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Jeremy Hermida managed a double in 4 at-bats, but also added a run scored and 3 RBI.

Huntsville 4 – Carolina 3
Travis Webb pulled out his best Edinson Volquez impersonation with this start.  Webb gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 5 walks in 4 innings pitched.  He struck out 5, but his ERA ballooned to 12.91 on the season. 

Felix Perez, Jake Kahaulelio, Denis Phipps, and Jose Castro each managed 2 hits in the game.  Perez and Kahaulelio each tripled while Kahaulelio also scored a run and drove in an RBI.

Bakersfield 4 – Modesto 3
Yasmani Grandal went 3-4 with a single, double, and a homerun.  Grandal scored twice and drove in 2 RBI.  In 8 games, Grandal has an OBP of .382 and is slugging .621.  Henry Rodriguez scored a run and went 2-4 at the plate.

Josh Ravin struck out 8 in 6.1 innings pitched, giving him 16 strikeouts in 11.1 innings pitched over 2 starts.  Ravin allowed a run on 2 hits while walking 3.  Ryan Smith made his first appearance of the year and picked up the win by pitching 1.2 scoreless innings of relief.  He walked 1 and struck out 2.

Lansing 8 – Dayton 4; game 1
Jefry Sierra went 3-4 with a double and an RBI while Donald Lutz went 2-3 with a homerun and 2 RBI.

Daniel Renken allowed 6 runs on 6 hits and 4 walks in 4.2 innings pitched.  He struck out 6 but his record dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Dayton 9 – Lansing 8; game 2
After blowing leads of 5-0 and 8-4, the Dragons were able to score a run in the 7th to take home the win in game 2.  Billy Hamilton went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases, giving him 11 on the season.  Jefry Sierra went 2-4 with a double, 3 runs scored, and 2 more steals of his own.  Dominic D’Anna had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with a double, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.  Donald Lutz homered and singled in 4 at-bats. The homerun was Lutz’s 3rd of the season.

There were a combined 10 errors in this game, 4 being made by the Dragons.  One of the errors was by Hamilton, his 6th of the season.
