Minor League Player of the Day: Jeremy Hermida (Louisville Bats): 3-3; HR, RBI, 2 Runs

AAA
Louisville 4 – Columbus 2; game 1
Jeremy Hermida went 3-3 with a homerun, an RBI, and 2 runs scored.  He is batting .467 in the early part of the season.  

Tom Cochran picked up the win after allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings pitched

Louisville 5 – Columbus 4; game 2
The Bats scored 3 runs in the 7th inning to force extra innings and managed to win it with a run in the 8th.  Chris Valaika went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 RBI.  Danny Dorn and Zack Cozart both went 2-4 and each scored a run.

Scott Carroll allowed 10 hits and walked 2, which resulted in 4 runs scored over 6 innings pitched.  Joseph Krebs pitched 2 scoreless innings to pick up the win in relief.

The 1-4 Mudcats had a scheduled off-day on Tuesday.  Their next game is today versus 3-2 Huntsville.

High A
Modesto 5 – Bakersfield 3
Josh Fellhauer went 2-4 with 2 doubles.  Andrew Means went 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI.  Finally, Eric Campbell added 2 hits in 4 at-bats, both of which were singles.

Josh Ravin had an outstanding start, striking out 8 batters and allowing just 1 run on 2 hits.  He did walk 4, however, in 5 innings pitched.

Dayton 2 – Lake County 1
Billy Hamilton went 1-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.  The stolen base was Hamilton’s 6th of the season. “Oh Billy, Billy, Billy”

Josh Smith improved to 1-1 on the season by pitching 6 scoreless innings.  He allowed just 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 6.
