According to John Fay, the Reds have cut 8 guys (sending them to the minor league camp):

Right-handers Carlos Fisher, Jerry Gil and Jordan Smith and left-hander Daniel Ray Herrera and infielders Yonder Alonso, Zack Cozart, Chris Negron and Todd Frazier.

No real surprises here. Jordan Smith being cut this early is a bit of a surprise, considering how well he pitched for the big club last year. Zack Cozart has had a great spring and might have made the team if the Reds hadn’t decided they need Renteria. The article says that Alonso will play LF and 1B at Louisville. I’m guessing LF will be manned by Frazier and Alonso, with Frazier also getting some time at 3B.

The roster now stands at 35.
