Not to put too fine a point on it…but what a load of horse manure. As predicted, Barry Larkin finished third in the Hall of Fame balloting, with 62.1% of the vote. Two deserving candidates were elected, however — Bert Blyleven and Roberto Alomar.
Yeah, Larkin is likely to be inducted next year, but that is little consolation. Larkin is a sure-fire, deserving Hall of Fame. The fact that the voters were so ignorant as to pass him over for two consecutive years is a disgrace.
A complete and utter disgrace. There is no reasonable explanation.
