Let’s see….Votto is Boon and Bruce is Otter. Stubbs and Wood are the two freshman pledges. Rolen is Daniel Simpson Day. Johnny Gomes is Stork. (“And Stork? Everybody thought the Stork was brain damaged.”) I just can’t figure out who Bluto represents. Dusty? Phillps? Corky Miller?

According to my local paper, Charlie Manuel has declared that the series is over. Something like, “It can happen, but it won’t,” referring to a Reds’ comeback. I think that’s an odd thing for a manager to say. I hope he will have the opportunity to regret those words soon.
