Per the Fay:

The pitchers: Edinson Volquez, Bronson Arroyo, Johnny Cueto, Francisco Cordero, Arthur Rhodes, Nick Masset, Aroldis Chapman, Logan Ondrusek, Bill Bray, Homer Bailey and Travis Wood.

The positions player: Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Orlando Cabrera, Scott Rolen, Jay Bruce, Drew Stubbs, Jonny Gomes, Ramon Hernandez, Ryan Hanigan, Chris Heisey, Laynce Nix, Miguel Cairo, Paul Janish and Francisco.

Pretty much what we expected.  Personally, I see no use for Francisco.  There are no great options, but they’d probably be better served with a utility guy (Valaika), another pitcher (Smith), or someone with a moustache.  Ideally, they could use a pinch runner.  Hopefully, Dusty will use Wood that way.

I agree. Francisco is about useless right now.

I think it makes sense whe you consider that Philly only has two lefties in the pen. (JC Romero and Atonio Bastardo). I like having another left handed hitter with power.

I don’t know that there was a great option for that 25th spot, with Edmonds unable to go. I don’t have a problem with Fransisco, because he’s not markedly better or worse than Valaika, Alonso, etc. My guess is he won’t be used but for maybe one at bat anyway.
