I have a very vivid memory of one other time the Reds started a post-season series on the road, as heavy underdogs, facing one of baseball’s best starters.   Sometimes, you can set the tone early, and the whole favorite/underdog thing seems to matter less.  Let’s put Votto in hightops.

    Perfect.

Classic highlight…but to be fair, your memory must not be as vivid as you think 😀 . I was at this game, and it was definitely NOT on the road. Awesome start against a huge favorite, greatest two games I’ve seen live.

    How About Something Like This?
    Yes, please.

I think what dates this even more than the uniforms and the ED’s high top fade is Pat O’Brien voicing it.

I have this video and the best part is Jose Rijo’s sweater and leather pants.

One good thing about the old uniforms, though…you could really see how these guys were built. Davis looks like he was made out of steele wire! The uniforms today are too baggy. Evryone looks fat and lumpy.
Granted, with some players, the tight uniforms were a detriment. Kevin Mitchell looked like an aging cappicola.
But they have better materials than polyester today. They could bring back that style and make it better to play in
