From the Elias Sports Bureau:
The Reds scored two eighth-inning runs to defeat the Cubs and complete their season series against Chicago with a 12-4 mark. Cincinnati’s .750 winning percentage against Chicago this year is its highest since the 1981 split season, when the Reds went 5-1 (.833) against the Cubs. In 121 years of that rivalry (1890-2010) there were only three other seasons in which the Reds posted a winning percentage of .750 or higher against Chicago: 1950 (.810, 17-4), 1962 (.778, 14-4) and 1975 (.917, 11-1).
The Reds are beating up on NL Central teams (other than St Louis) this year:
— Astros 7-2 (.778)
— Brewers 4-1 (.800)
— Pirates 8-5 (.615)
Eighteen of the Reds remaining 32 games are against these three teams. Three against Pittsburgh, six against Houston, and nine against Milwaukee.
