Minor League Player of the Day: Wladimir Balentien (Louisville) 3-4, 2 homeruns, 4 RBI, 2 runs scored.

AAA
Louisville 5 – Indianapolis 1
Balentien belted his 23rd and 24th homeruns of the season and singled handedly carried the Bats to the victory.  The 4 RBI give him 75 on the season.  He also stole his 11th base of the season.  The 3 hits raised his average to .289 on the season with the Bats.  Yonder Alonso went 2-4 with a single and a triple.  Alonso also scored twice and is now batting .299.

Lee Tabor pitched a scoreless 5th and 6th inning to pick up the win, his first with Louisville.  He allowed 1 hit and struck out 1.  Daniel Ray Herrera allowed 1 hit over the final 2 innings to pick up his 5th save of the season.

AA
Birmingham 5 – Carolina 4
Mike Costanzo had a single and a double in 4 at-bats, scoring once, and driving in 2 RBI.  Carlos Mendez went 2-4 with a run scored.

Travis Webb pitched well in the start, allowing 1 run on 7 hits and a walk in 6 innings pitched.  Webb left the game with the Mudcats leading 4-1.  Abe Woody was roughed up however to the tune of 4 runs on 4 hits in 1.1 inning pitched to pick up the loss.

High A
The game between Lynchburg and Winston Salem was postponed due to rain.  It will be made up as part of a double-header on Wednesday.

A
Dayton 11 – Lake County 4
The Dragons finish off the 4-game sweep of Lake County with a 7-run win.  The Dragons scored 8 runs in the 3rd inning and never looked back.  Josh Garton went 3-4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Dominic D’Anna drove in 4 RBI with 2 singles in 4 at-bats.  Alex Oliveras hit his 4th homerun of the season, a 3-run shot in that 3rd inning.  Didi Gregorius had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, one of which was a double.  Mark Fleury had 2 RBI, a single, and a double in 5 at-bats.

Tim Crabbe benefitted from the run support to pick up his 3rd win of the season.  Crabbe wasn’t great, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 5 innings pitched.  However you don’t need to be great when your team gives you 11 runs to work with.

Rookie
Ogden 13 – Billings 3
Stephen Hunt provided the only positive of the game by hitting his first homerun of the season.  The pitching for the Mustangs was terrible, with each of the 4 pitchers used allowing at least 2 runs each.

The AZL Reds had a scheduled day off on Tuesday.  They resume play today against the AZL Brewers.
