Nice AAA debut for Devin. A grand slam to win it in the ninth!

It was a heck of a game, I was there and was an exciting finish. First off Reineke had a no-hitter through 5 innings. The Bats ran themselves out of at least one run in about the 4th or 5th inning, Francisco doubled, got thrown out at home on a Balentien single, then Balentien got picked off trying to steal third. That mess was ugly.

Devin looked awful his first two AB’s, however, his third AB was a rocket shot off the wall for an opposite field double.

In the 9th, Alonso went deep to lead off the inning, then the Bats loaded the bases on a Valaika infield single (great hustle), leading to the full count, opposite field Grand Slam to win the game.

I for one was really impressed with Devin’s ability behind the plate as well as his power to opposite field.

    Couple more observations:

Dave Sappelt hit the ball hard every single time and made a heck of a catch in CF. He will be an interesting guy to watch.

Balentien had two singles off of the starting pitcher who was left handed. This is a good sign if he can start hitting lefties.

Jerry Gil struck out the side and hit about 95-96 on the radar gun.
