Minor League Player of the Day:

AAA
Louisville 8 – Syracuse 5
Yonder Alonso had 3 singles in 5 at-bats as well as driving in 3 RBI and scoring twice.  He is now at .299/.357/.459 in 351 at-bats for Louisville.  I’m looking forward to seeing Alonso get a few ABs as a pinch hitter next month.  Zack Cozart went 2-5 wit a double and scored a run.  Corky Miller went 2-3 with a walk and a run scored.  Wladimir Balentien hit his 22nd homerun of the season and drove in 3 RBI.

Ben Jukich improved to 5-4 on the year with the win.  Jukich allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6 over 5.2 innings pitched.  Daniel Ray Herrera struck out 3 in 1.1 innings, allowing only 1 hit.   Enerio Del Rosario struck out the side in the 8th, but allowed a run on 2 hits.  Aroldis Chapman came on and struck out the last batter of the game, and the only batter he faced, to record his 7th save.

High A
Lynchburg 5 – Myrtle Beach 3
Brodie Greene scored 3 runs and had 2 singles in 4 at-bats.  Chris Richburg went 2-3, drove in 2 RBI, and scored a run.  Finally, Kyle Day singled and doubled in 4 at-bats.

Jordan Hotchkiss improved to 10-4 on the season and now sports a 2.30 ERA.  Hotchkiss picked up the win after allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks over 6.1 innings pitched.  He struck out 4.  Donnie Joseph struggled in the 9th, giving up a run on 3 hits and a walk, but still picked up his 17th save of the season.

Ogden 7 – Billings 4
Yorman Rodriguez had 2 doubles and a single in 4 at-bats.  He also scored twice and raised his average to .359 on the season.  Theo Bowe and Donald Lutz both went 2-3 in the game.  Lutz had a double, scored a run, and drove in an RBI. 

Drew Hayes picked up the loss in relief.  Hayes allowed 3 unearned runs in the 9th inning to fall to 0-1.  The Mustangs committed 2 errors, including Devin Lohman’s 18th of the season in 44 games.

The Arizona League game between the Reds and Giants was postponed due to rain.
