Minor League Player of the Day: Jordan Wideman (Lynchburg) 3-3, 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI

Louisville 6 – Toledo 5
Wilkin Castillo, Zack Cozart, and Yonder Alonso had 2 hits each batting in the first 3 slots in the order.  Castillo went 2-5 with a run scored and an rbi, Cozart went 2-4 with a run scored, and Alonso also went 2-4  with 2 doubles, a run scored, and an rbi.  Danny Dorn hit his 10th homerun of the season, drove in 3 RBI, and walked 3 times in a 1-2 game.

Matt Maloney improved to 10-5 on the season with the win.  Maloney allowed 4 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5.  Daniel Ray Herrera picked up his 4th save of the season by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.

Chattanooga 5 – Carolina 4
Sean Henry and Dave Sappelt went 2-5 with Henry scoring a run and Sappelt driving in an RBI. Jake Kahaulelio had a single and a double in 4 at-bats.  He also drove in 2 RBI.

Redleg Nation spotlight player Matt Klinker picked up the loss and fell to 5-6 on the season despite a solid 2.75 ERA.  Matt allowed 5 runs on 10 hits and 1 walk over 7 innings pitched.  He struck out 6.  Neither team in this game played great defense as the two teams combined to commit 8 errors (4 each).

Potomac 8 – Lynchburg 7 ; game 1 
Kyle Day went 2-4 with 2 doubles, a run scored, and an RBI.  Josh Fellhauer also went 2-4.  Fellhauer hit his 6th homerun of the season and scored twice. Cody Puckett also homered, his 12th of the season.  

Justin Walker allowed 8 runs on 9 hits and a walk in only 1.1 inning pitched.  The bullpen of Jeffords, Infante, and Bowman stopped the bleeding and gave the Hillcats a shot to come back.  The trio pitched 7.2 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 9.

Lynchburg 5 – Potomac 2 ; game 2
Denis Phipps hit his 8th homerun with Potomac and finished the game 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI.  Neftali Soto went 2-4 with a run scored.

In his first start with the Hillcats, Blair Carson picked up the win.  Carson went 5 innings, allowed 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 3.

West Michigan 8 – Dayton 3
Kevyn Feiner had a double and a triple in 4 at-bats.  He scored once and drove in an RBI.  Henry Rodriguez also scored a run and went 2-4 with 2 singles. Chase Weems added 2 singles in 3 at-bats.

Junior Martinez took the loss in relief by allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings pitched.  Martinez’s record dropped to 1-3 on the season. 

The game between Billings and Helena was suspended in the 4th inning with the Mustangs leading 2-0.  The game will be completed today as part of a double-header.

The AZL Reds had a scheduled-day off on Monday.
