Louisville overcame a 7-0 deficit (Spotlight Pitcher Matt Klinker got beat up giving up all 7 runs in the first two innings) on the strength of 2 hit nights from Gary Matthews Jr, Zach Cozart, and a big night from Juan Francisco (2-4, 2 homers, 5 RBIs and a walk). Del Rosario, Valiquette, and Herrera threw 5 innings of shutout baseball.

Montgomery 4 – Carolina 3

Kris Negron (2-5 D), Devin Mesoraco (2-4 D HR), Dave Sappelt (2-4 HR), and Eric Eymann (2-4) powered the Mudcats. For Mesoraco, it was his 19th HR of the season and he’s hitting .321/.390/.627 at the combined two levels. Sappelt has hit .340/.385/.513 since coming to Carolina.

Carlos Mendez, Nefi Soto, and Denis Phipps all had two hits, but the team could muster only 7 hits, all singles.
