Winston-Salem 7 – Lynchburg 4

Brodie Greene was one of four Hillcats players with 2 hits.  Greene went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.  Felix Perez had a single and a triple in 4 at-bats.  He also drew a walk and drove in an RBI.  Kyle Day had 2 singles in 4 at-bats.  Finally, Josh Fellhauer went 2-5 and scored a run.

Nick Christiani, who had allowed only 5 runs in 30.2 innings pitched with Lynchburg coming into the game, allowed 4 runs in just 2 innings in this game to pick up the loss.  The loss dropped him to 1-2 on the season in relief for the Hillcats.


Great Lakes 6 – Dayton 4

Chris Richburg went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI.  He now has 48 RBI on the season.  Didi Gregorius was also 2-4.  Gregorius has 2 singles and scored 2 runs.

Jacob Johnson fell to 4-6 with the loss.  Johnson allowed 4 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings pitched.  He struck out 3.


Billings 8 – Helena 4

Trailing 4-0 heading to the bottom of the 8th, the Mustangs put up an 8-spot in the 8th inning for the 8-4 victory.  The Mustangs managed only 5 hits in the game and were aided by 3 Helena errors.  Cristobal Rodriguez went 1-2 with a double, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  The Mustangs batters struck out a combined 13 times.

Reliever Ryan Smith pitched a perfect 8th inning, striking out a batter to record his first win of the season.

AZL Angels 13 – AZL Reds 5

It does not matter what level of baseball you are playing, when you commit 6 errors in a game, you are not going to win too many ball games.    And that is how many errors the AZL Reds committed.  Juan Silva went 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI.  Samuel Diaz went 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 runs scored.
