Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….

Cleveland 5
Cincinnati 3
WP: Talbot (8-6)
LP: Arroyo (7-4)
S: Wood (6)

–Joey Votto went 2-3 with a 2-run homer and a walk. He’s now hitting .305/.411/.552 on the season.

–Jordan Smith (2 IP) and Logan Ondrusek (1 IP) were strong out of the bullpen, tossing scoreless innings.

–Only four hits.

–Bronson Arroyo gave up four runs on six hits in five innings. Daniel Ray Herrera gave up two hits and a run in his only inning of work.

–An uninspired performance to end the series, but the Reds take two out of three, and I’m satisfied with that.

–The Reds are going to need a starter on Thursday. I wouldn’t be surprised if Daniel Ray Herrera were sent to AAA (since we have another lefty, Bill Bray, in the bullpen now). I’m also guessing it’s going to be Travis Wood making the start that day. That’s just speculation, though.

–Don’t fret; the Reds remain alone in first place after the Cardinals lost today.
