Columbus 4 – Louisville 3

The Bats managed only 5 hits, 1 of which was a homerun off the bat of Wilkin Castillo.  The blast was Castillo’s 5th of the season.  He drove in 2 RBI as well.

Jacksonville 5 – Carolina 4

Mike Costanzo went 2-4 with a triple and a run scored while Kris Negron hit his 4th homerun of the season and drove in 2 RBI in a 1-4 day at the plate.

Jeremy Horst pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief to lower his ERA on the season to 1.35 in Carolina.  In 13.1 innings with the Mudcats, Jeremy has surrendered 2 runs on 11 hits and 4 walks while striking out 13.  He had a 4.30 ERA in 14.2 innings with Lynchburg earlier this season.

Lynchburg 4 – Salem 0

Neftali Soto made up for his “bad day” yesterday by going 3-4 in this game with 2 singles, a double, and a run scored.  Alex Buchholz went 2-4 and hit his 2nd homerun of the season.  Jose Gualdron had a single and a double in 3 at-bats.  He also scored and drove in a run. 

James Avery pitched 5.1 scoreless innings to improve to 1-1 on the year.  Avery scattered 4 hits and struck out 2.


Dayton 9 – Kane County 2

Henry Rodriguez went 2-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI while Chris Richburg  drove in 2 runs and hit his 5th homerun of the season.

Pedro Villarreal pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4.  With the win, Pedro bumped his record to 3-3 on the season.  Chase Ware pitched 4 scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits and a walk while striking out 4.  Ware has allowed only 7 earned runs in 40.1 innings pitched in Dayton for a 1.56 ERA.  He has walked only 7 in that span with 34 strikeouts.
