Minor League Players of the Day:  Chad Reineke (Louisville) 7 IP, 0 runs, 3 hits, 0 walks, 3 strikeouts and Matt Fairel (Lynchburg) 7 IP, 0 runs, 3 hits, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts

Louisville 3 – Scranton 1 W/B

Six different Louisville players had one hit.  Todd Frazier and Zack Cozart each homered in the 6th inning, giving both six homeruns on the season.

Reineke improved to 2-3 with the win and lowered his ERA to 2.81 on the season.  Logan Ondrusek recorded the final two outs of the game for his first save of the season.

The Mudcats had a scheduled off-day on Monday.

High A

Lynchburg 1 – Myrtle Beach 0

Another light hitting contest as the two teams combined for only 9 hits.  Lynchburg managed six hits, led by Neftali Soto who went 1-4 with a double and an rbi.

Matt Fairel improved to 5-1 on the season and lowered his ERA to 3.04.

Lake County 1 – Dayton 0

Seven different Dragons had a hit.  For the first time since I have been doing Down on the Farm, I can’t recall a set of games in which no offensive player had two hits.  The Reds farm system had 19 hits total on this day, and 19 different players had a hit.

Justin Walker lost a chance at being one of our players of the day when he allowed an unearned run in 6 innings of work, allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6.
