23 year-old Yonder Alonso went 1-3 in his AAA debut. Alonso, playing first base tonight, has shown great patience so far this year, but not much power.  In 120 ABs in Carolina,  Alonso hit .267/.388/.406.

84 year-old  Corky Miller went 3-3.  Corky is now hitting .348/.420/.576


Carolina 5, Tennessee 3

24 year-old shortstop Kris Negron went 2-4 with a R.

25 year-old starting pitcher Dallas Buck pitched 6.1 innings, allowing 7 H, and 1 BB while striking out 3.  Buck, who came to the Reds in the {genuflecting} Adam Dunn trade, now has a 5.30 ERA in 35.2 IP with 17 Ks.


Wilmington 4, Lynchburg 3

21 year-old Brad Boxberger pitched only 5 innings, giving up 3 ER, on 7 H.  Boxberger, last year’s supplemental first round pick, now has a 2.67 ERA with 36 Ks in 33.2 IP.

22 year-old center fielder Josh Fellhauer went 2-3 with a BB and 2 R.  Fellhauer is now hitting .276/.331/.418.  Last year at Dayton, he hit .280/.351/.453 in 255 ABs.


Dayton 5, Great Lakes 4

20 year-old second baseman Henry Rodriguez went 1-3 with a HR, R, and 2 RBI.  Rodriquez is now hitting .276/.302/.450.

20 year-old shortstop Didi Gregorius went 1-4 with a 2B, B, and an RBI.  Gregorius is now hitting .271/.333/.357
