Let’s recap today’s titanic struggle….

FINAL
Cincinnati 0
St. Louis 6
WP: Carpenter (4-0)
LP: Harang (1-4)
BOX SCORE

POSITIVES
–N/A

NEGATIVES
–Three hits? TOS*.

–Carlos Fisher is not pitching well, but Nick Masset is just awful. He’s a disaster. Put him on the disabled list with an inflamed ERA (it’s 11.45, by the way).

ETC.
–Reds wasted a great opportunity to win a series against the Cardinals, and those don’t come along every day. Still, the Reds finished 4-2 on this road trip, which is a good thing. For some reason, though, it just doesn’t feel like it was a successful road trip, does it? These last two days have been painful.

–This just in: Chris Carpenter is good.

–Aaron Harang was actually pretty darn good for most of today’s game. He gave up three runs over six innings, but he struck out six and walked none. Harang is going to be fine, Reds fans.

–Okay, the Mets come to town next, followed by the stupid Cubs. If the Reds can follow up this road trip with a 4-2 homestand, it’ll be nice (no matter how poorly they play and, make no mistake, they will play poorly).

*This Offense Stinks.

Hello first time poster here. I’m a regular on Reds.com though. Anyway, the Reds cannot afford to miss chances and expect to win vs Carp. Good trip though.

We have a good opportunity to win this series against the Mets. The pitching matchups favor us in the first two games, though we’ve had some problems with Oliver Perez thru the years. And Rhodes and Cordero have gotten some rest.

The third game matchup will be interesting, with Cueto against the young lefty Niese, who grew up not too far from Cincy and will have friends and family there.

For me the stupid Mets are just as stupid as the stupid Cubs. We’re back home, let’s win both series, guys, and we’re back in business.

Welcome Reds03. Keep your head down, show some thread clutchness, good body language, some swagger (when called for) and you’ll get along just fine. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Wow, that’s veteran leadership !

Good to have you aboard, Reds03.

I recommend that you sit back and observe so that you can chill and marinate for a while before jumping into the fray Reds03.

I have no idea why this is a good policy, but it’s the way we did it around here when Hank Aaron was posting.

Andy Furman was on one of the sports talk shows last night on tv. I’m not sure what was said, with all of the screaming going on, but I think the gist of it was “fire Dusty Baker.”

And also, the Cyclones are down in the 0-2 hole ( ๐Ÿ™ ), but unlike Willy Taveras, I think they can work their way out of it.

    @taoistlumberjak: …Hockey!…on a Cincinnati Reds site?…Blasphemy! Blasphemy I tell ya! ๐Ÿ˜€

and Reds03: remember the proper posting order: It’s always righty, lefty, righty.

    Welcome aboard.

The Reds have faced the Cards 6 times already. That’s good for the rest of the way.

Chad, I have to agree, Harang has been pretty good the last 2 starts. He looks like he’s going to turn it around…knock on wood.
