Let’s recap tonight’s titanic struggle….
FINAL
Cincinnati 2
Florida 10
WP: Johnson (1-1)
LP: Harang (0-2)
BOX SCORE
POSITIVES
–Are you kidding?
NEGATIVES
–TOS*.
–Aaron Harang…sigh. Four innings, ten hits, eight earned runs. What can you say that hasn’t already been said. I know we all love Aaron Harang, but his performance tonight was one of the worst I’ve ever seen out of the big guy. He just didn’t act like the bulldog he used to be. A sad evening.
–Micah Owings’s control disappeared for the first time this season.
ETC.
–I could’ve put this under “positives” but I refuse, on general principle…but Chris Dickerson really had an outstanding game from the leadoff spot. He went 2-3 with a walk and two stolen bases. He was the lone bright spot (unless you want to include Jonny Gomes’ 2-4 night).
–Chris Garber made the point on our upcoming podcast, but Orlando Cabrera IS Alex Gonzalez.
–Such a frustrating evening. The Reds had a great chance to win this series after taking the first two games, only to blow it. One win in the last two games and we would’ve been very happy heading to Pittsburgh. Now, we’re just…blah.
