We’re two games behind the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates! The sky is falling! (At least we’re only in fifth place, ahead of the lowly Houston Astros.)

Don’t worry, though. We’ll get ’em next year!

Although losing the first two isn’t the end of the world, it’s how they lost them that bothers me. The other team makes the hustle plays and clutch hits, and our bullpen is erratic. And that team just happens to be a division rival.

Meet the new Reds, same as the old Reds.

I agree things were ugly at times, but come on people, the Reds so far have faced number 2 and 3 in NL cy young last year. Not to mention the MVP and decade triple crown winner in Pujols. Hope Arroyo can get the Reds on the right track today.

I think that the Pirates will not finish in last place this year. The Astros are much worse, especially if Berkman isn’t in the lineup. Speaking of…can the Reds play all their games against the Astros before he come back? That would be nice since he is the biggest Reds killer of them all.

Unfortunately, we’re more backloaded against the ‘Stros. We do have 3 at the end of April and 3 at the end of May. Everything else is after the break with 6 games in the last two weeks.
