It’s said by many that the end of the dynasty began with the trade of Tony Perez, which disrupted the Reds’ clubhouse chemistry. Others say the decline was due to the deterioration of the Reds’ pitching staff. Whatever the case, one of the reasons stated for Anderson’s firing as Reds manager was because he was too “low-key” with some of his players.
