Okay, I’ve finally uploaded some of the photos I took at Reds Fest. I know it was two months ago…get off my back!!!

I’m not particularly happy with most of these; the lighting in the room was terrible for photographs in most places. They do, however, give you an idea of what Reds Fest is all about if you haven’t been. It was a blast, I gotta admit.

Some of my favorites for you to look for:

–The line for photos with Drew Stubbs juxtaposed with the line for Justin Lehr. I almost got my picture snapped with Lehr just because I felt sorry for the guy. We love ya, Justin!

–Johnny Cueto and Daniel Ray Herrera goofing around.

–Chuck Harmon. Class act.

–A Reds blogger with a nervous smile getting his picture taken with Reds manager Dusty Baker, Dusty’s arm draped over his shoulder. We’re BFFs!

Okay, enjoy….

UPDATE: Individual pictures under the fold, for those who can’t view the slideshow above….

thank you, great photos… i of course chuckled at the Dusty picture, but I’d like to say I actually think Dusty has a lot of qualities and deserves a little credit. Of course i have big problems with lineups, taveras play, harang treatment, etc… I just seem to keep remembering when Votto was out with his troubles, and Hernandez playing first, and they kept winning. I thought Dusty kept the team in line with a weird situation (plus Volquez injury, bruce injury). Anyways, for what it’s worth, it’s Dusty’s last year and he’ll have to earn it. I’m optimistic like every winter/spring.

Love the photos, the best one (seriously) is of you and Dusty ! It looks like Dusty is ready to bring you into the fold. Maybe as his next bench coach ?

OK. I know I’m pretty technologically challenged 🙄

    — but how do I see the photos? I’ve clicked on everything I can think of and e-mailed the post to myself thinking maybe that would do it.

I’d love to see the line for Stubbs’ autograph. Daughter talked to him across the fence by the backfields at Ed Smith, no lines to wait in. Makes me miss the Reds in SW Florida pretty badly.

Now we just have the Twins — who’ve added Jim Thome and Orlando Hudson.

Interesting, but still not the Reds.

WOW. I last went to RedsFest 10-15 years ago (There was a Fat Brian Hunter game-worn jersey on sale, which puts it in the late ’90s. It was a pretty small-time affair, frankly. A bunch of people on folding chairs in a convention hall, with Jim Bowden answering stupid questions.

The current version, on the other hand, is a completely different story. Very impressive and professional.

Please tell me you bought that jersey?

@pinson343: Don’t hold your breath waiting for that one. 🙂

@Chris: I talked with one of our other editors, Chris Wilson, who had been a couple of times pre-Castellini. He had the same reaction: it’s a whole different ballgame now.

Gotta give kudos to Castellini. It’s a really first-class event, in stark contrast to the product they’ve put on the field over the last decade. They do it right.

@RedinFla: The pictures are in a slideshow, and should show up automatically.

Anyone else having problems viewing the photos? If so, I’ll pull them out and just post them individually.

@Chad Dotson: First time I logged on this morning (about 8:00) the pics pulled up automatically and looked great! Now, after church, nothing at all.

The problem, as with everything on the internets, is with older versions of Internet Explorer. It works fine on my computer on both (the latest version of) IE and Firefox.

I’m just going to post them individually.

    @Chad Dotson:

Thanks, Chad – for the pics AND for making them accessible to folks like me with dinosaur technology. 🙄

  10. Chris

@Chad Dotson: They wanted like $100 for the Hunter jersey. In those days especially, that was too much to pay for a gag. I was also significantly thinner then, so a fat Brian Hunter jersey was not the viable wardrobe choice it is now. 😯

Looks like a pretty nice turnout. I’m stuck in PA so I doubt I’ll ever make one of those…so I’ll have to live vicariously through those of you who are much closer! Thanks for posting.

I can’t wait until next year’s Redsfest because I will be going. It will be my first time going to that so I will be super excited.

Chad, the picture would have been perfect had you had a toothpick in your mouth. 😆
