It is time once again to vote for Joe Nuxhall as a candidate for the 2010 Ford C. Frick award.

The final ballot will consist of the top 3 candidates receiving votes from fans, plus 7 candidates nominated by the Hall of Fame research team. A 20-member panel, consisting of 15 living Ford C. Frick award winners and 5 historians/veteran media members, will select the award winner from those 10 candidates.

Electors are asked to base their selections on four criteria: (1) longevity; (2) continuity with a club; (3) honors, including awards and national assignments, such as the World Series and All Star-Games; and (4) popularity with the fans.

Thanks to everyone out there in Redleg Nation, Nuxhall has received the most fan votes in each of the past two seasons. I think Joe exceeds the criteria for winning this award, and I hope this is the year that he finally wins.

This year voting is being handled through Facebook, and you must have a Facebook account to participate.

Why are they not using a general access website for voting this year? Am I the only one who has an issue with this because I don’t have, nor really desire to create, a Facebook account?
