Says preach:

unrelated note: I keep signing onto Redleg Nation hoping to see a headline about some positive move made by the organization that will change the course we have been heading on.

Still hoping…..

Me too.

It’s so slow in The Nation right now. That’s a function of the fact that the World Series is still going on (without the Reds, again), and MLB doesn’t like news to be made during the Series unless it’s about terrible umpiring.

Soon, the Series and the season will be over and Reds-related news will begin trickling out again. Be patient. There’s even a chance that there will be good Reds-related news.

We can dream, can’t we?

Dare to dream…what type of information do you anticipate? The only thing I can foresee right now is roster makeup..

On the positive side, last night it was nice to see Johnny Damon picking up a trick from Brandon Phillips, right? The ol’ double-stolen-base-against-the-defensive-overshift-on-a-lefthanded-batter play… 8)

Since the Reds have no payroll flexability there is really no “major” moves the Reds can do. They won’t dump Willy till closer to ST as our Gm will do everything he can to deal him.

@DevilsAdvocate: Has Brandon done that before? That was one of the coolest, funniest-looking, most heads-up plays I’ve ever seen!

@Drew Nelson: Unless they cut him now due to the 40-man roster crunch. It would keep Taveras now, be unable to trade him in spring, and lose a player in the Rule V draft because they tried to wait until spring training. He won’t have any games between now and spring training to improve his numbers or his outlook for 2010.

As hungry as we are for something positive, it’ll be interesting to see where the Reds stand at the 40-man deadline, which young players get a vote of confidence, etc.. We’re all pretty opinionated about roster issues, so at least we’ll have something to talk about.

…and I do recall Brandon stealing both second and third, but I don’t remember all the details.

@Dan: August 1, 2007 against the Nationals. Phillips stole two when the shift was on for Dunn. They lost anyway. Par for the course.

Kinda off topic, but can someone from cincy help here. I read in the Indianpolis paper that there may be a casino built in downtown cincy at Broadway Commons. Isn’t that the “other” site across from the prison that was offered for a new Reds stadium? If a casino is put there might that help generate downtown cincy? Also what is being built between GAB and PBS?

…by the way — it must be slow in the Nation for me to watch that dopey Monster Mash thing all the way to the end. 🙄

We could talk about Goodyear Arizona. Facebook had pictures of the newly finished facility.

BP tried it again this year, I believe against the Cardinals, and the picher was waiting for him at 3rd base for an easy out. Lidge screwed up. Once things start to go wrong, he loses his composure.

    @pinson343:
Yeah, and Phillies Phans aren’t too sympathetic –Lidge may need to find a new team in the off-season.

too sad for a Florida Fan. 😥

I think when BP tried going to third he didn’t even slide, just kept on running. Not sure if that was the failed one this year or the successful one previously.
