Chris Sabo, Pedro Borbon, and Tony Mullane will be the 2010 class of the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.

We’ll talk about all three more in the coming days, but for now, I love this quote by Sabo:

“Obviously it’s a great honor,” Sabo said. “This is probably it for me being in the Reds Hall of Fame as far as my baseball career. I got voted by the fans. My career wasn’t that great, trust me. Fans always liked me. I could always look in the mirror and say I gave it the best I could. I always tried hard. I played on some great teams with great teammates. We had fun.”

Heh.

(Not that I was stepping out on a limb or anything, but I said back in July that Sabo was a shoo-in to be elected. I still would’ve like to have seen John Franco picked.)

I’d never heard of Mullane but boy he sounded like one of those guys you’d want to be close enough to see what he’d do next but far enough not to get caught up in any of it yourself.
