Homer Bailey was 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA in the final week of the season, and has been appropriately rewarded. Congrats, Homer.

    Wow! SWEET!

    Well-deserved recognition for a guy who’s worked hard and taken his game to the next level. 8)

    Pretty awesome way to close out the season.

    A sign of great things to come, I think.

    It’s pretty remarkable how he has done a complete turnaround this year. It would be interesting to pick his brain to see what, besides confidence, helped him.

    @Matt B.:
    I know I go on a lot about intangibles in a player…
    but for Hal McCoy to document (before he started pitching better) Homer’s turnaround from a surly kid avoiding reporters to an upbeat, postive guy enjoying all aspects of his chosen profession – well, this has to be at least part of the reason.
    It’s like a vicious cycle in reverse: better inner man, better outer man…
    Is that too deep and philosophical for 7 a.m.?
    😯

    Homer is going to start game 1 of our next playoff series. Now if I only knew when that was going to be………..

    It is too philosophical fpr 7 AM, but now it’s 6 PM and I’m ready to take a nap.
    It’s a familiar story in life. Young hot shot is arrogant because he’s never had to deal with adversity. Then he gets kicked in the butt, more than once, and suddenly people are no longer so interested in him.

    From there, IF he has the talent and the stomach, he comes back as a stronger person and a better player.

    @pinson343:

    Yep, that about sums it up.
    Now I’ll just wait for the Sultan’s prediction to come true…….
