Triple – A

Louisville 7 – Columbus 5

Chris Heisey homered and added a single in 5 at-bats.  He scored a run and drove in 3.  Juan Francisco and Luis Bolivar each went 2-5.  Francisco scored a run while Bolivar scored 3 times and added a double.  Wes Bankston and Korey Feiner were each 2-4 in the win.  Feiner scored a run and doubled.

Greg Atencio picked up his first win in Louisville by pitching the last out of the 5th and then the 6th inning.  He allowed a run on a hit.  Logan Ondrusek struck out 2 and pitched a scoreless 9th to pick up his 9th save of the season.

Double – A

Carolina 1 – Montgomery 0; game 1

Jose Castro went 2-4 with 2 singles and drove in the lone rbi in the win.  Jake Long was 2-3 with 2 doubles and scored the only run of the game.

Alexander Smit struck out 9 over 6 innings to pick up the win.  He allowed 2 hits and walked 4 to improve to 2-3 on the season.  Sean Watson allowed a hit and struck out 2 in the 7th for his 6th save of the year.

Carolina 5 – Montgomery 0; game 2

Zach Cozart homered and drove in 2 rbis in a 2-4 night.  The homerun was his 10th of the season.  Yonder Alonso scored twice and had 2 singles in a 2-3 night.  He also had an rbi and walked once.  Kris Negron went 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored.

Joseph Krebs made the start and pitched 3.1 hitless innings while walking 3 and striking out 4.  Zach Ward came in in relief and allowed only 1 hit in 1.2 innings to pick up the win.  Ward walked 2 and struck out 1.

Class A Advanced

Sarasota did not play.

Single – A

Lansing 7 – Dayton 3

Carlos Mendez went 3-4 with an rbi and a run scored while Humberto Sosa hit his 4th homerun of the season and drove in 2.

Jordan Hotchkiss struck out 8 over 5 innings pitched, but allowed 3 runs to score on 5 hits and picked up the loss, dropping his record to 3-6 on the season.  Andrew Bowman didn’t help matters any by allowing 4 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings of relief.

Rookie Leagues

GCL Rays 6 – GCL Reds 0

Jefry Sierra was a perfect 3-3 at the plate.  That’s it for the offense.

The pitching in this one wasn’t helped much by the Reds defense.  The Reds committed 6 errors, 2 of which came from Billy Hamilton on throws, giving him 9 total errors on the season.

Billings 5 – Missoula 3

Frank Pfister went 3-4 with 3 singles, a run scored, and an rbi in the win.  Mariekson Gregorius was 2-4 with 2 singles.

Luca Panerati pitched 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 4, but did not factor into the decision.  Tzu-Kai Chiu received the win by pitching 2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits.
