Time for a recap of tonight’s titanic struggle….

Cincinnati 8
Milwaukee 5
WP: Lehr (3-1)
LP: Bush (3-5)
S: Cordero (28)

–Sweep! The Big Red Machine is back!

–Joey Votto had his best hitting game in a while; 3-4, his 20th homer, a double, a walk, 2 RBI.

–Paul Janish had a couple of hits, including a double doubles, driving in two runs. He also drew a walk.

–Drew Stubbs had two hits from the leadoff spot.

–Justin Lehr pitched 7 2/3, which is good…but he gave up 5 earned runs, so his line doesn’t look very good. When you consider, however, that four of those runs scored in the first inning, it’s clear that Lehr settled down and pitched pretty well after the opening frame.

–Now it’s home to face the Dodgers. The Reds are on a four game winning streak and, as noted in the game thread, will finish at 91-71 if they win out. Hope springs eternal.

–Veteran Leadership, baby!
