The internet is abuzz with word that Reds 2006 first round draft pick Drew Stubbs will be added to the 25-man roster for tonight’s game against the San Francisco Giants.

Mark Sheldon has confirmed via twitter that Drew Stubbs is at Great American Ballpark this afternoon.

No word yet on any corresponding roster move, or if he’ll crack the starting lineup tonight.

UPDATE: Stubbs is leading off and playing centerfield.

UPDATE 2: Willy Taveras goes on the DL to make room for Stubbs, via redsinternblog:

TODAY’S TRANSACTIONS: OF Drew Stubbs today was promoted to the Reds 25-man roster. OF Willy Taveras was transferred to the 15-day disabled list. Stubbs will wear uniform number 6.

There was no mention of subtractions from the 40-man roster, but I believe they were at 39 players before this announcement.
