Tom mentioned it below in DOTF, but I just had to take a second to highlight a bit further what turned out to be a good night in the minors for Redleg Nation. Two of our Spotlight Players had great nights that deserve to be applauded, especially since these guys have been so generous in sharing their time with RN.
First, Matt Klinker earned his first win as a AAA pitcher. Klinker tossed 7.1 scoreless innings against Toledo, giving up only two hits and striking out nine. A dazzling performance, and the first of many, we hope.
Logan Parker had a good night as well, going 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI for Carolina. Parker has heated up over the last week, and is poised to finish the season well.
We’re very happy to support these guys, and we’re even happier when they are doing well. The common trait shared by every player who has been a Spotlight Players is that, without exception, they are all outstanding young men. I hope you’ll join us in congratulating these guys, and wishing them well.
