Redleg Nation would like to congratulate our Player of the Month for July: Joey Votto.

Votto is the first two-time winner of the award in 2009, and his July was outstanding. Votto played in 27 games, hitting .324/.352/.598, with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 7 HR, and 13 RBI. Although he has slowed down a bit lately, he’s still the most productive Red by far.

Keep up the great work, Joey!

I do really enjoy watching Votto play. He really is such a great player. He is about the only bright spot nowadays.

I bet Scott Rolen wins for August for his veteran leadership skills.

I also bet we don’t win a stinkin’ ballgame during the month.
