Triple – A

Louisville 6 – Toledo 5; final 11

Drew Stubbs went 3-5 with a double, run scored, and 2 rbis.  He was in the leadoff spot.  I don’t know if that is significant, I’m just saying!  Eric Eymann went 2-5 with a double, run scored, and 2 rbis.

Starter Ben Jukich pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks.  Jukich struck out 9.  Jeff Kennard picked up his 3rd win in relief, despite giving up 3 unearned runs.  Fortunately, the Bats capitalized on 4 unearned runs late themselves to give Jeff the win.

Double – A

Carolina 5 – Chattanooga 4; final 13

The Mudcats managed only 5 hits, but that was enough to pick up the win in extra innings.  Juan Francisco went 3-6 with a homerun, double, 3 rbis, and a run scored.  The homerun was Juan’s 19th of the season.  Stephen Chapman had only 1 hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a 2 run homer, his 4th of the season.

Redleg Nation Spotlight Player Matt Klinker pitched 6 strong innings, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 8.  He now posts a 2.95 ERA in Carolina.  Jerry Gil picked up the win in relief to improve his record to 2-1 in Carolina.  I’m not sure how Gil can win a game in which he pitches 1.1 innings, allows 1 run on no hits and 5 WALKS!  In 24.1 innings pitched, Gil has walked 29 batters compared  to just 12 strikeouts.  He has allowed 59 baserunners and has an ERA of 7.03.  When does this experiment end?

Class A Advanced

Sarasota 3 – Daytona 2

Alex Buchholz and Shane Carlson each had 2 hits in this game. Buccholz went 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored while Carlson went 2-3 with a double and an rbi.

Steven Otterness pitched 3 scoreless innings, allowing just 1 hit to pick up the win.  Steven is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in Sarasota.

Single – A

Peoria 4 – Dayton 3

Kevin Coddington was a perfect 3-3 at the plate last night with 3 singles and a walk.  Byron Wiley went 2-4 with a homerun, 2 rbis, and 2 runs scored.  The homerun was Wiley’s 11th of the season.  Cody Puckett went 2-4 with 2 singles.

Aguido Gonzalez allowed 2 runs in the 9th inning to blow the save and pick up the loss.  Gonzalez allowed 2 hits while striking out 3 to fall to 0-4 on the season.

Rookie Leagues
