Louisville 5 – Buffalo 2

Matt Maloney allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings pitched to pick up his 7th victory of the season.  He struck out 6 and lowered his season’s ERA to 2.51.

Wes Bankston was a perfect 4-4 at the plate in this game, adding a double, rbi, and a run scored.  Darnell McDonald went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 2 rbis, and he hit his 7th homerun of the year.  Danny Dorn went 2-4 with a double and 2 rbis in the win.

Double – A

Carolina 4 – Huntsville 3

Sean Henry, Stephen Chapman, and Shaun Cumberland had two hits each for the Mudcats in this win.  Henry was 2-5 with 2 runs scored and a stolen base.  Chapman was 2-3 and had a solo homerun.  Cumberland was 2-2 with 2 singles.  Todd Frazier also hit a solo homerun, his 11th of the season.

Sean Watson pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief to pick up his 3rd win of the season.  Logan Ondrusek pitched 1 scoreless inning to record his 6th save of the year.

Class A Advanced

Clearwater 4 – Sarasota 1

Dave Sappelt went 2-5 with 2 singles while Neftali Soto went 2-4 with a double in this losing contest.

Travis Webb allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 5 innings pitched to fall to 5-9 on the season.  He struck out 5 and now posts a 4.70 ERA on the year.

Single – A

The Dragons did not play yesterday.

The GCL Reds had a scheduled day off yesterday.

Billings 7 – Ogden 6

The Mustangs were outhit 13-5 in this game, but somehow still managed to score 7 runs to get the win.  Thomas Nurre hit his first homerun of the season in a 1-3 night.  Nurre drove in 3 rbis and scored twice.  No one on the team had more than 1 hit.

Mike Bohana pitched 1 scoreless inning of relief to pick up his first win of the season.  He allowed a hit and a walk and struck out the side.
