Great news for one of our Spotlight Players, Matt Klinker:
OF Chris Heisey and RHP Matt Klinker have been named International League Player of the Week and Southern League Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the week of 7/6-7/12…Heisey, who participated in Monday’s XM All-Star Futures Game, went 9-for-20 during the week (.450) with 2 HR, 9 RBI and a .850 slugging pct….on 6/27 he was promoted to Louisville from Double-A Carolina, where he was among league leaders in virtually every offensive category…Klinker, who was promoted to Carolina from Class-A Sarasota on 7/3 went 2-0 for the week, fanning 15 over 12 scoreless innings (2-0, 4h, 4bb, .105oba).
