Let’s take a trip around the internets….
–Dusty Baker moved Jay Bruce up in the order last night, ostensibly to allow the big guy to see better pitches. I think it was a good move by Dusty.
–John Fay has some good quotes from Bronson Arroyo about last night’s titanic struggle. Fay also practically confirms what we’ve all suspected: Matt Maloney will take Edinson Volquez’s next start. Good for Maloney. He’s earned it.
–Good description by Mark Sheldon of the road trip thus far:
This really isn’t the way the Reds planned for this trip to go. A 5-2 loss has given them four losses in five games on the road trip through beer towns Milwaukee and St. Louis.
Along the way, they’ve lost Joey Votto (stress), Edinson Volquez (elbow tendinitis), Jerry Hairston Jr. (stomach bug) and Willy Taveras (right hamstring). Brandon Phillips (thumb) missed most of the first game.
—Over at RR, Slyde accuses A*** D*** of witchcraft.
–Dusty isn’t very worried about Joey Votto. That’s comforting, because I’m certainly worried.
–A good description of last night’s game.
–It was good to hear Chris Welsh and George Grande discuss Redleg Nation Spotlight Player Logan Parker on the television broadcast last night.
–Don’t miss the latest episode of Redleg Nation Radio, where Bill and I discussed all sorts of dumb stuff.
–New Dave Matthews Band album is out. Mine should arrive today.
