Louisville 4 – Scranton W/B 0

Matt Maloney pitched one heck of a game last night.  Maloney pitched a complete game, shutout.  Matt surrendered just 3 hits and walked zero while striking out 10!  Maloney now has a 2.00 ERA in 67.1 innings pitched.  In that span, he has struck out 58 and walked just 9!

Norris Hopper and Craig Tatum had 2 hits each for the Bats while Drew Stubbs homered in the 4th inning. The homerun was Drew’s 2nd of the season.

Double – A

Carolina 9 – Tennessee 2

In his first Double – A game, Yonder Alonso went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a walk, 2 runs scored, and 3 rbis. Just for the record, Alonso is batting .750 in Carolina!  Chris Heisey also had 3 hits.  Heisey’s 3 hits came in 5 at-bats with 2 of the hits being doubles and the other a homerun.  The homerun was his 9th of the season.  He also scored a run and drove in a run.  Redleg Nation Spotlight Player Logan Parker homered as well and recorded 2 hits in 5 plate appearances and Todd Frazier went 2-5 as well.

Zach Stewart improved to 2-0 on the season by allowing 1 unearned run on 4 hits in 6 innings pitched. Stewart walked 1 and struck out 4 in the win.

Class A Advanced

Daytona 4 – Sarasota 0

Devin Mesoraco had his 2nd multi-hit game in a row.  In this contest, Devin went 3-4 with 3 singles. Carson Kainer also had a multi-hit game, going 2-4.  

Jeremy Horst allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks to fall to 2-5 on the season.  Horst struck out 6 in 6 innings of work.

Single – A

The Dragons had a scheduled off-day.
