Triple – A

Louisville 7 – Scranton W/B 5

Everyone’s favorite Red, Darnell McDonald, went 2-4 in the game with a double and a homerun.  McDonald scored a run and drove in 3 rbis.  Michael Griffin homered as well and drove in 3 runs and Drew Stubbs went 2-5 with 2 singles and a run scored.

The Bats bullpen was nearly perfect in this game.  From the 4th inning on, the bullpen did not allow a hit or a walk while striking out 6.  Robert Manuel pitched 3 innings and struck out 4 to pick up the win in relief. 

Double – A

Carolina 10 – Tennessee 2

Todd Frazier went 3-4 with a double, homerun, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in to lead the Mudcats in their offensive outburst.  Frazier is now batting .326/.363/.497 on the season.  Chris Heisey went 3-4 as well with a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 rbis.  Chris is now batting .378/.458/.616 on the season!  Zach Cozart and Spotlight Player Logan Parker had 2 hits each for the Mudcats.  Cozart had a double and scored twice while Logan Parker had 2 singles and drove in a run. 

Alexander Smit made his 3rd start in 14 appearances for Carolina this season and picked up his 2nd win.  Smit allowed 2 hits but 5 walks in 5 innings pitched.  He didn’t allow a run and struck out 3.

Class A Advanced

Daytona 11 – Sarasota 3

Devin Mesoraco raised his average to .188 on the year by going 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk in this contest.  Justin Tordi boosted his average all the way up to .150 with a 2-3 game.  Tordi homered in the 8th inning, his first of the season. 

Luis Montano fell to 4-5 on the season with the loss.  Montano allowed 5 runs on 6 hits and a walk in 4 innings pitched.

Single – A

Cedar Rapids 7 – Dayton 4

Carlos Mendez supplied most of the offense for the Dragons in the loss by going 1-4 with a homerun and 2 rbis.

Lance Janke had his worst start of the season by allowing 6 runs on 10 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4 in 5.1 innings pitched.
