Triple – A

Louisville 3 – Scranton W/B 0

Daniel Dorn supplied most of the offense himself by going 2-4 with 2 solo homeruns.  The homeruns were Dorn’s 3rd and 4th of the season.  Dorn continues to struggle though, putting up .204/.276/.366 on the season.  Danny Richar supplied the other Bats run by hitting his 2nd homerun of the season.

Matt Maloney pitched for the Bats and was outstanding.  Maloney pitched 7 shutout innings, scattering 4 hits while walking just 1.  Maloney fanned 10 batters in the game.  Matt is now 3-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 37.1 innings pitched.  He now has 33 strikeouts on the season.

Double – A

Birmingham 9 – Carolina 2

Not much to mention offensively in this one.  Todd Frazier went 1-4 with a double and an rbi while Sean Henry added an rbi in a 1-3 game.

The pitching wasn’t much better.  Misael DeJesus allowed 5 runs on 4 hits and 5 walks in 4 innings of work to record his 4th loss of the season.  DeJesus is now 1-4 with a 10.36 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched.  The large reason for his failure has to be his whopping 21 walks allowed compared to just 11 strikeouts.  Sheesh!

Class A Advanced

Fort Myers 6 – Sarasota 5

The Reds made an attempt at a late rally, but could not overcome the early 6 run deficit.  Redleg Nation Spotlight Player Matt Klinker had his worst outing of the year.  Matt gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks in just 2 innings of work.  The loss was also Matt’s first decision of the season.

Neftali Soto was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a homerun and a walk.  The homerun was Soto’s 4th of the season.  Yonder Alonso went 1-2 at the plate with a run scored.  Alonso also walked 3 times in the game.  Alonso is now batting .283/.362/.496 on the season.

Single – A

The Dragons had the day off.
