Wes Bankston went 2 for 3 with a HR. Adam Rosales went 2 for 3 with a 2B. Kevin Barker went 1 for 2 with a 2B and a BB.

Matt Maloney goes the distance for the win, 7 IP, 1 R, 6 H, no BB, and 2 K.

Louisville 5 – Columbus 4 (DH Game 2 – 7 Innings)

Norris Hopper went 3 for 4 with a SB. Wilkin Castillo went 2 for 3 with a 2B.

Ramon Ramirez went 3.2 IP allowing 4 R, 3 ER, on 4 H, 4 BB with 2 K. Adam Pettyjohn added 2.2 scoreless innings of relief. Carlos Fisher struck out the final two batters for the win.


Carolina 10 – Mississippi 3

Chris Heisey went 2 for 3 with 2 2B and 2 BB. Todd Frazier went 4 for 5 with a 2B. Zack Cozart went 3 for 4 with a 2B. Juan Francisco doubled.

Jordan Smith started and went 7 IP allowing 2 R on 5 H and a BB with 4 K. Alex Smit allowed a run over the final 2 innings.

High A

Sarasota 4 – St. Lucie 2

Justin Reed went 2 for 3 with a HR and a BB. Denis Phipps was 2 for 4 with a 3B and a 2B. Neftali Soto doubled.

Zach Stewart started and went 4 IP allowing 1 R on 6 H and a BB with 3 K. Daniel Guerrero picks up the win giving up 1 R in 3 IP of relief. Jesus Carnevales records the save with 2 IP of scoreless relief.

Low A

Great Lakes 2 – Dayton 0

Jordan Wideman, Miguel Rojas, and Frank Pfister each singled for the only 3 H Dayton had on the day.

Curtis Partch goes 5 IP allowing 2 R on 7 H and no BB with 6 K. Lance Janke struck out 4 over 3 scoreless innings of relief. Scott Gaffney tossed a scoreless 9th.

    Interesting that Stewart has been moved in the starting rotation after making 2 stops last year (and dominating) as a closer.

    Rosales is playing like he hates AAA. GOOD! If we’re not bringing up Gomes, we need a better backup 1B option than Janish or Hernandez.
