I’ve been fiddling around with the site in anticipation of Opening Day, trying to make it more readable, and faster. Thoughts?

Also, I’ve added a “Random Posts” section in the left sidebar. We have almost 5000 posts in the archive here at The Nation, and this pulls up 10 of them randomly. Nice little walk through our shared history.

I like this format a lot better. It looks pretty slick, and you definitely took the advice on adding more red. I approve.

Is there any way you can put the HTML bar for comments back on? It didn’t show up on the previous format and doesn’t seem to show up (at least for me) on this format either.

Love the mobile site, BTW. It’s awesome that I can easily read this site on my Blackberry.

I like it, the only problem I have is it is very hard to read the big board depth chart. Keep up the good work.

I too like this format better, more readable and lots of red.

Matt B: There is a link right above the comment box that will drop down some html tags that you can use. I will try to see if I can put up the html bar (plus smilies) that we had before, if I can get it to format correctly. I liked those, but it didn’t work with our last design; it may work now.

It looks like their names are cut in half…it was that way before too, I just hadn’t said anything before now. I can still read it, it just is a little more difficult.

Not bad at all — quite a surprise for me when I got here today, though.

Are you guys using Internet Explorer? It looks fine in Firefox, so I hadn’t noticed it looking screwy in IE.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll see what we can do.

I’m a Mac guy, and it looks fine in Foxfire and Safari. IE is not supported any longer on the Mac…do you have the same problem with the Draft Trackers?

I agree the new plan looks great, except for the big board which is a train wreck in IE7 but I could live with it.
And I dunno but all that red could be harsh after awhile too, but like I said, I could live with it

Yeah, I’m in the process of toning down some of the red (after some email feedback I’ve gotten). I agree about that. We need some red, but there’s a point where it’s to much.

    Switch to Firefox!

We’ll see if we can fix that. I wasn’t aware that it was an issue until today.

Looks good, though it’s taken my eyes some time to adjust to the larger print, believe it or not!

And, yeah, more red looks good.

Chad, Using firefox at home I can read it fine, but I don’t have that option at work unfortunately (so I’ll have to wait until I am home). Thanks for all the good work.

It seems to be fine on everything but IE…and none of us know how to fix the problem for IE, so….
