Doug went to Dayton today, and he has some initial impressions of today’s Futures game. This is one that I like:
Yonder Alonso doesn’t swing at pitches that aren’t strikes.
Sounds good to me, but that’s just the kind of thing that will make Alonso very unpopular with the mouthbreathers who call into WLW.

Also, here’s a good piece from Baseball America about Dallas Buck. Buck, you will remember, came over in the Adam Dunn trade, and he pitched fairly well against the Reds in the first Futures game on Friday. It’s worth a read.
