Hey, Danny Dorn got an AB in major league camp. Dorn is one of our favorites here at Redleg Nation. The guy should have been in big league camp since day one this year.

Drew Stubbs got 10 at bats, Yonder Alonzo got 6 and these are guys higher on the prospect chain. And, this was a year when there were extra games and they still didn’t get much game action.

Dorn was better off in the minor league camp getting more reps and attention than he would of at the big league camp getting to practice but not really participate. He will benefit in the long term for what would have been a short term ego massage. The fact that he got into a game should have accomplished the massage anyway.

I understand what Mark’s saying, and in a sense, agree. But there is more to it than that, it lets a player know his worth to the organization. As Logan Parker hinted in his interview, not getting an invite (when lesser players did) seemed to make Dorn question his place in the organization.

I agree Bill, just get him around the other guys, so he has that to look forward to and dosn’t fell left behind. I hope Dorn rips the cover off the ball and dominates to show the front office that this guy does in fact matter in the organization.

Again if it is about stroking an ego maybe it is time to grow up.

Here is the non roster position players
Other than catchers (and we know why they are invited), who on the list is he ahead of in the organization especially outfielders.

Catchers: Humberto Cota, Chris Denove, Chris Kroski, Devin Mesoraco, Infielders: Wes Bankston, Kevin Barker, Luis Bolivar, Todd Frazier, Chris Valaika, Outfielders: Jonny Gomes, Jacque Jones, Darnell McDonald, Laynce Nix, Drew Stubbs, Darryl Ward

Other than Bolivar, Fraiser, Valaika and Stubbs they all have played in the big leagues who have it in their contracts that they get an invitation.

    Who is he ahead of?
