From the AP:

Barry Larkin will manage the next U.S. game in the World Baseball Classic for Davey Johnson, who will be attending the wedding of his stepson.

Larkin, the bench coach for the U.S. team, will lead Friday’s workout and manage Saturday night’s game against Puerto Rico in Miami. Johnson will attend the wedding in St. Petersburg, Fla., and is expected to rejoin the team Sunday.

So the Johnson family just found out the schedules. Dad accepts a two month job over a year ago and they can’t schedule a wedding around it.

Hope they win so Barry doesn’t get the blame.

I wonder how far off it is that Barry might be coaching somewhere? I think this experience will help him, and I hope they pull it out for him.
