Hot Bobblehead Action Chad Dotson 02/09/2009 14 I meant to mention this earlier: the Reds are giving out more bobbleheads this year. Do people still get excited about bobbleheads? While I’m at it, check this out. Has our favorite budding star procured some off-season employment? Share this:TweetPocket 14 Responses Surf City Red 02/09/2009 My 6 year old son loves the McDonald’s Star Wars Bobbleheads, there must be at least 20 of those. CeeKeR 02/09/2009 You can still sell a bobblehead on eBay for the price of a game ticket (I did that a couple of times while going to Pirate’s games last year). And if people want Pirate bobbleheads, they certainly ought to want Reds bobbleheads, right?! Mark T 02/09/2009 I also collect Barbie dolls. brublejr 02/09/2009 I love my bobbleheads. I have them up above my computer…Front and center is Eric Davis and Joe Nuxhall. Steve Price 02/09/2009 We have several bobbleheads, but interested waned at home as Austin Kearns had an arm break off, and then his neck spring was bent; then Adam Dunn’s Louisville Bats head fell off, and then Junior fell off a shelf, and lost his head… Sounds like the DL in a way…and, oh, well, none of them are REds now anyway…so much for the framed posters on the walls… Bill 02/09/2009 I have a “RoofMan” bobblehead on my desk. preach 02/09/2009 “We have several bobbleheads, but interested waned at home as Austin Kearns had an arm break off, and then his neck spring was bent; then Adam Dunn’s Louisville Bats head fell off, and then Junior fell off a shelf, and lost his head…” …and the Dr. Kremcheck bobblehead had them all listed ‘day to day’. Off topic: but did you see that the Rangers took a flyer on Andruw Jones. Minor league contract for just above league minimum. If he can return to half the player he used to be it will be more than worth it. GregD 02/09/2009 The Phillips bobblehead is after the trade deadline? Of the 3, he seems to be the most likely to be traded. GRF 02/09/2009 Kids love them for about a week, then they are destroyed in a game of tag, wrestling, “indoor basketball” or the like. I actually feel guilty taking them now knowing their inevitable fate. KY Chip 02/09/2009 I’ve still got my old Reds bobbleheads from the 1970s and earlier. One has a childish players face, the other is Mr. Red. I’ve had since I was a kid — can’t even remember when/where I got them. Just seems like they were always there. Steve Price 02/09/2009 I have a porcelain “Mr. Red” bobblehead…I protect that one. I also have a porcelain Reds player bobblehead…no specific player, so it probably doesn’t mean anything. Oh,wait…to justify…that’s what I could have been had my childhood dreams only come true… preach 02/09/2009 “I also have a porcelain Reds player bobblehead…no specific player, so it probably doesn’t mean anything.” Kinda like our centerfield position over the last couple seasons. KY Chip 02/10/2009 Steve – sounds like we’ve got a matching set of bobbleheads. I’ve not picked up any of the recent ones featuring the BRM or current players, but they have me interested. nick in va 02/10/2009 My mom loves the bobbleheads. I think the only thing she likes more than her bobbleheads is her hat with Arroyo hair. I always loved the giveaways as a kid (and was always worried we wouldn’t be one of the first 25,000 fans or whatever), but not so much any more.
