Use this thread to cheer on the Steelers, to root against the Steelers, or just to talk about whatever’s on your mind. No Adam Dunn, though. Dunn discussion is off-limits.

Or not. Discuss whatever you want. Even the Bengals.

I’m watching Virginia and Duke college basketball. This is going to be uglier than the Super Bowl, guaranteed.

  2. Matt Steele

    I hate the Steelers

Just had to throw that out there

  3. Y-City Jim

I hate the Steelers more than the Bengals fans hate them. That said, I really don’t care who wins tonight.

  4. Matt B.

I hope the Steelers get thrashed, but I doubt that happens. Sigh, I strongly dislike the Steelers and their fans.

A couple threads back Bowden was declared the worst GM because Bavassi had been fired in Seatlle. Question: If the Cards win the Super Bowl and Bidwill gets a championship, who takes over the mantra of worst owner in professional sports?

  6. Chad

At the risk of losing my credibility as a Reds blogger… Go Steelers.

Oh, wait. I don’t have any credibility as a Reds blogger. Never mind.

  7. BenL

Isn’t Mike Brown already the worst owner in professional sports? And the worst general manager too…

  8. GregD

Ditto what BenL said. The Cards performance in the Superbowl does nothing to dislodge Brown as the worst owner in professional sports.

  9. Y-City Jim

Randy Lerner can’t be too far behind Mike Brown.

  10. Deaner

    Chad,
You’ve lost no credibility here. Although it may be an odd combination, I am both a Reds and a Steelers fan.

  11. Shane

I not only want the Cards to win, I want them to win BIG! That would just make my day.

  12. nick in va

Go Cardinals! If the Cardinals can win a SB that means there might be hope for the Bengals some day. I’m not holding my breath though.

  13. Tom

Only if Polamalu cuts his hair and can get on base at better than a .350 clip. 🙂

  14. Chad

If he can get on base like that, I don’t care what his hair looks like. He could have a beehive hairdo, for all I would care.

  15. Chad

Cris Collinsworth and Matt “Worst GM in pro sports history” Millen both picked Arizona to win.

Go ahead and give the trophy to Pittsburgh.

  16. Phill

If Polamalu had a beehive he should get extra money….that’d be something to see.

  17. Jimmy James

I’ll cheer for the Cardinals until they show Cuba Gooding for the first time. Then I’m going to be forced to be a Steeler fan.

  18. Jimmy James

I’d like to see a football helmet on a beehive. Or a baseball cap…it’d be like those old pictures of Oscar Gamble in the 70s. Awesome.

  19. Y-City Jim

I thought 100-yd INT returns only happened against the Browns.

  20. CeeKeR

Deaner, I’m also a Reds fan and a Steelers fan.
I get to revel in the ineptitute demonstrated by Cincinnati in football while simultaneously crying about the ineptitude demonstrated by Cincinnati in baseball. I do feel sorry, however, for anyone who roots for both the Reds and Bengals, no one deserves that kind of suffering.

  21. CeeKeR

Bruce actually seemed to enjoy his halftime show. First time in a long time where the entertainment seemed to enjoy being there…jus throwing it out there since halftime is otherwise boring.

  22. Y-City Jim

There is only one Boss, and his name ain’t Steinbrenner!

  23. Jimmy James

And there was the obligatory Cuba Gooding sighting. Go Steelers!

  24. Jimmy James

I used to be a big Bruce fan until he started spouting all the political nonsense every time he opened his mouth. Gotta admit, though, that was a good halftime performance. The guy can still rock.

  25. Chad

Y-City….what’s that picture beside your name? Can’t tell on this little netbook I’m using.

  26. CeeKeR

Cardinals are getting a little chippy now. 3 personal fouls sets the Steelers up for another 4 shots at the end zone.

  27. Chad

Yeah, they’re doing their best to give this game to the Steelers.

  28. Chad

No matter. For the second time tonight, and the hundredth time this season, the Steelers can’t get into the endzone after being inside the five.

  29. CeeKeR

Yeah, that’s been the Steelers problem all season…which is scary because that usually their strength. Ever since the Bus retired, they’ve been lousy in short yardage situations.

  30. Y-City Jim

Y-City….what’s that picture beside your name? Can’t tell on this little netbook I’m using.

It’s Freakazoid. One of the best comedic superheros of all time.

Now I know why the Steelers had red zone issues all year. Their running game sucks.

  31. Y-City Jim

OK. The Polamalu Coke Zero spoof of the old Mean Joe Green Coke commercial was pretty good.

  32. Chad

If by “running game,” you mean “offensive line” then you’re right. The O line is terrible. Fast Willie Parker is a good RB.

And, yeah, the Polamalu ad is great.

  33. Y-City Jim

If Harrison had pulled that personal foul stunt in a regular season game, I think he would have been tossed.

  34. Y-City Jim

    Arizona’s defense has been outstanding!

  35. Y-City Jim

What a great way for Warner to end his career! Pro sports needs more guys like him.

  36. Y-City Jim

I gave the Steeler offense no chance of scoring based on the way they had played most of the game. Ben probably gets the MVP but it should go to Holmes, IMO.

  37. Y-City Jim

Great game and great halftime show!

    Congrats, Steelers!

Cardinals showed they belonged there. Stick around another year, Kurt. Give it one more shot.

  38. Chad

Oh my goodness, that was an incredible game. One of the best Super Bowls I’ve ever seen. Just crazy.

I agree about Warner and the Cardinals. They absolutely proved they belonged. Love Kurt Warner. But I hope he retires if the Steelers are going to have to play him again!

  39. Chad

I thought the Steelers were finished after Fitzgerald (who is AWESOME, by the way) scored the TD. Never in a million years did I think Big Ben would drive them down the field, even though I’ve seen him do it a million times. He’s a winner.

  40. Y-City Jim

That catch by Holmes was phenomenal! I thought Ben was throwing it away.

  41. Chad

Everything Holmes did on that last drive was amazing. A VERY deserving MVP.

  42. CeeKeR

That was a GREAT game! Both teams had some amazing plays – but Ben and Santonio seemed to want just a little bit more.

  43. Steve Price

Didn’t I hear John Madden say that the Cardinals were creating HAVOC with their defense?

  44. GregD

I was surprised they didn’t review that last fumble by Warner.

  45. nick in va

I really didn’t want the Steelers to win. I hope they never win another game, ever.

  46. Glenn

Mike Brown couldn’t GM his way out of a wet paper bag.
