From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Reds great Barry Larkin is leaving the Washington Nationals to take a job as an analyst with the MLB Network.

snip….

Larkin told MLB.com that Bowden gave him a chance to be first-base coach, but Larkin turned it down because of family commitments and business interests outside of baseball.

Larkin also said the Reds, whom he played with for 19 seasons, offered him a chance to return to the organization this offseason, but he chose to work for the MLB Network, which launches Jan. 1.

I’d have really liked to have seen Barry return to the Reds…but if this is better for he and his family, more power to him.
